Raceway Park of the Midlands is proud to announce the hiring of a new manager, Bruce Smith. His experience in both management of businesses as well as his racing experience, should be a vital part in the success at RPM. Please join us in welcoming Bruce to our track.

Here's his bio:

Current NASA, SCCA member and former Rocky Mountain Vintage Racing member. Open wheel, Production and Cam Am race driving experience. Driver instructor for NASA Rocky Mtn. in the HPDE 1 and 2 groups. Race Steward and driver instructor for RMVR and Nostalgia Racing. My involvement with Raceway Park of the Midlands is through the ownership group. Having a Road Course Manager with experience in road racing is critical to the growth of the facility. The concerns of the road course participants can be addressed from the perspective of a racer. I also hope to bring along ideas learned from other tracks and managers.

Volunteer Day at the road course

When: Sunday April 12th at 10am-?

Some of the work will include painting projects, power washing the concession stand building and cutting down scab trees along the lake.  If anyone knows of any possible sponsors who will donate some supplies to have their company name painted on the rumble strips or start/finish line, please let us now. We will need paint, rollers, brushes, paint pans and cleaning supplies.

Due to some last minute bookings, we regret that we have had to cancel some of the Fun Days on Sundays.  One of the bookings that came up was for 3 dates for "FindTheLine" which anyone can participate in, if they have a driving school certification under their belt, as this is on the full, high-speed course.  The Sunday track days will be on the short, low speed course and the final details are being worked out.

There is also a chance to have more open track days for novice racers with some "Hot Summer Nights" during July and August.  This would consist of one night a week, opening up the track from 3pm - 8pm for open laps on the short, low speed course. Let us know if there would be interest in doing events like this during the week.  These types of events are designated to give people a chance to experience the road course for a reasonable cost.

Keep your eyes on the RPM website and Facebook for dates and times of the open track days.  We want your input so please use the contact form on the website and let us know what you think.
